Axed Emmerdale star Martelle Edinborough has reportedly taken a cryptic swipe at the soap after her character Suzy Merton was brutally axed after three years. Amid ITV budget cuts and a huge cast cull, the event planner met a grizzly end when a limo containing a whole host of beloved village residents crashed into an icy lake. The dramatic scenes, which aired last month, saw Suzy lose her life alongside fellow passenger Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), who had featured on the show for 16 years.
