MAIL SPORT EXTREME: The hills are alive with the sound of runners... and they've never had it so tough!
Tucked away in the tranquil Chamonix Valley on the Swiss-French border, a runners' storm has been passing through this week. As the snow-capped Mont Blanc overlooks the valley, despite the 30-degree temperatures, some of the world's best trail runners have gathered here to take part in various runs, some over several days and totalling 176 kilometres. This is the 21st edition of the Ultra Trail Mont Blanc finals and the event continues to grow and has attracted attention and runners from all over the world.
