A British backpacker was allegedly stabbed within the neck with a broken beer bottle while defending his feminine good friend in a bar in Thailand.
Hugo Mooney, from Bristol, had been consuming together with his associates when the row erupted on the Bamboo Bar on the 'Full Moon Celebration' island of Koh Pha Ngan on January 28.

Describing the police's actions upon arriving at his workplace, Mooney added: 'They spoke to my employees and inquired about my whereabouts, asking how I used to be and if they might converse to me.
'Nevertheless, my employees informed them that I used to be too sick and too scared to talk with them.
'First, they stated I needed to return to take a photo, so I requested what kind of photograph. Then they requested me to return in to signal one thing. They changed their story straightaway.'
Hugo's Thai good friend Chanjira Witthayabumrung, a witness to the alleged attack, stated he's indignant on the police that the suspect was launched.
Chanjira stated: 'The person virtually killed someone else. He was arrested for interrogation however he was launched. But our pal virtually died. Where is the justice in that?
